Knowledge Article Language Translation Request

I am trying to do a language translation from English to German from the Knowledge Articles list view.

I check the desired article and then click the Request Translations button, select German as the requested language and click Submit.

I get a message stating the request was skipped.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Hi @cbsden,

You’re hitting a known behavior: the “Request Translations” button on the Knowledge list view can show “request was skipped” when the Localization Framework configuration is incomplete or the target language is not properly set up.

I would recommend you check the following:

Verify Localization Framework settings

Go to Localization Framework → Settings and confirm:

   - A record exists that includes German as a target language.

   - The workflow preferences (e.g., auto‑publish, manual review) are defined.

Check the system property

Open System Properties and ensure glide.knowman.translation.enable_lf_article_translation = true so the list‑view translation path is enabled.

Confirm article state

Try the Request Translations action on a published Knowledge article in the same KB to see if it still skips.

Hope this helps!

Verified the settings mentioned and I am still getting "request was skipped" and I don't see the translated article.

Can you manually create a translation task, like mentioned in the following doc?

Request missing translations for available languages

Do you see anything in sys log?

That is what I am trying to do from the list view of the articles. I don't see much in the sys log.
