This is one of the issue we encounter frequently..
Lets say i create a column with name COLA and i move the code to TEST, STAGE and PRD
And later due to some reasons, i happened to delete that column and create another one with same name as COLA(May be i change the column type or any other reason)... When i move the code to the next environment, i see the dictionary entry getting created without the label field.. Or atleast in some case, i could see in the List view, the label is appearing but once i get into the record its not showing..
To fix the issue if i manually update the name in the label field, its not getting saved.. And some how i delete everything in Dev1 and move the code to TEST again, it works.. Similar problem pops up when i move the code to stage...
The worst thing is when i column is getting created with label field missing, its hard to fix it. One thing which i noticed is, the label tab will be missing in the column dictionary from one instance to another.. but when i export/import the label tab, its not getting fixed..
Irrespective of why i need to end up in this scenario, what is the actual cause of the problem? If it occurs how we can fix it? Whats the right approach

Hi,
Definitely a known issue throughout the community forums here. Some sort of glitch makes it happen, but there are workarounds:
The reason why it "seems" to work when you do your steps of deleting and pushing up the updated set or code or whatever is because coincidentally, you're doing the workaround.
Please consider marking my reply as Helpful and/or Accept Solution, if applicable. Thanks!
