I want to learn Now Assist, Agentic Ai, Ai skills for project ready requirements
Also want to hands-on experience in all of these.
I have search for the courses but as a fresh mind I'm very confused where to start.

Here's a structured, phase-wise roadmap built from ServiceNow's own official learning ecosystem, so you have a clear "start here → build here → get hands-on here" path.
Phase 1: Platform Fundamentals (skip this at your peril)
Every AI feature sits on top of core platform mechanics; tables, flows, ACLs, scripting. If you're not already CSA-level comfortable, spend 2–3 weeks here first: data model/CMDB basics, Flow Designer, roles/ACLs, and basic GlideRecord/GlideAjax scripting. This is the base every AI layer depends on for grounding quality.
Phase 2: Learn Now Assist as a "Consumer" First
Before building anything, understand what it feels like to use it.
- Now Assist Essentials (on Now Learning) covers Now Assist apps, Admin console, Skills, Generative AI Controller, and includes interactive simulations.
- Introduction to Generative AI is the recommended prerequisite before Essentials.
- If you have PDI (Personal Developer Instance) access, try summarizing a test incident to see real output; though note most Now Assist features (beyond Build Agent) aren't available on a plain PDI; you typically get a lab instance through the course itself.
Phase 3: Agentic AI Foundations
- Introduction to Agentic AI is a short 10-minute course introducing agentic AI/AI Agents concepts (Xanadu release onward).
- AI Agents: AI Agent Administration includes a hands-on lab for AI Agent administration.
- For a guided hands-on walkthrough, ServiceNow Community also has a great video covering prebuilt ITSM agents (triage, resolution planning) and building a custom agent end-to-end via AI Agent Studio; accessed via All > AI Agent Studio > Create and manage > AI agents.
Phase 4: Build-Layer Skills (this is your "project-ready" zone)
- AI Builder Fundamentals (10h 15m learning path) is a hands-on building/deploying AI-driven workflows using Skill Kit and Data Kit, across ITSM, HR, CSM.
- Follow it up with AI Builder Fundamentals – Applications (14h 21m) for domain-specific implementation (ITSM, HR, CSM, FSM).
Phase 5: Certify to Prove It
- Now Assist for ITSM Implementer learning path bundles the required courses + exam. The exam blueprint covers Virtual Agent capabilities, Skill configuration, Incident handling/summarization, Skill Kit customization, and Workspace customization.
- If you want something lighter first, the Now Assist Executive Micro-Certification (1h 25m total, 10 questions) is a good quick milestone.

Starting from a fresh ServiceNow/AI perspective, I would strongly recommend not trying to learn “Now Assist + Generative AI + Agentic AI + AI Agents” as four separate subjects. That is exactly what creates the confusion.
ServiceNow itself currently has a growing set of free AI learning resources, and the University now also emphasizes simulations and personalized learning paths.
The learning path I would recommend
Think of it as:
AI fundamentals → ServiceNow AI → Now Assist → AI Agents → Agentic AI → Build real projects
Phase Learn Goal
1. AI Basics AI Essentials, Generative AI concepts Understand LLM, prompts, grounding, RAG, hallucination, AI governance
2. ServiceNow AI Now Assist Essentials, AI Search Understand how AI fits into the Now Platform
3. Now Assist Now Assist for ITSM Use GenAI capabilities in Incident, Knowledge, Change, etc.
4. AI Agents AI Agents Essentials, AI Agent Studio Build/configure an AI agent
5. Agentic AI Introduction to Agentic AI Understand agents, planning, reasoning, tools and autonomous workflows
6. Hands-on AI Agent Studio + workflows + skills Build actual business solutions
7. Project-ready End-to-end use case Be able to explain/design/demonstrate an AI solution
This sequence also aligns well with ServiceNow's current training/resources around AI Agents and Agentic AI.
Start with these courses
I would put these at the top of the friend's ServiceNow University queue:
1. AI Essentials
Don't skip this. It gives the vocabulary needed for everything that follows.
2. Now Assist Essentials
Learn what Now Assist actually is before diving into agents.
3. Now Assist for ITSM Essentials
This is particularly useful because it connects AI to real ServiceNow processes such as Incident Management, Knowledge and other ITSM activities.
4. Introduction to Agentic AI
Now understand the difference between:
Automation → Generative AI → AI Agent → Agentic AI
5. AI Agents Essentials
Then move into actual agents.
6. AI Agent Studio
This is where the learning becomes much more practical. ServiceNow describes AI Agent Studio as the place to create, manage and test AI agents and agentic workflows.
There are also current ServiceNow learning resources specifically covering building AI agents, configuring AI agents and AI Agent administration.
