Linking RITM to a CHG

We have a requirement to link RITM to a CHG record.

We are able to do this, but there are cases when an RITM needs to be linked to 2 CHG records.

Scenario: When RITM123 is linked to CHG123, and we link the same RITM123 to CHGXYZ ---- the link is broken on RITM123 and CHG123. It behaves like an RITM is only allowed to be linked ONCE.

How can I change this to allow it to be linked multiple times?

it is returning current change number..which is correct but i am not getting it why it is setting it to closed complete state?

Where you are storing the RITM number under change request form? Because current.parent should give ritm number. Thanks Shashikant

I mean in which field you are storing the ritm number under change request form?

I have not created any reference field on change form ,  I am using parent field(from related list) on both tables hence I am able to see RITM number on change and vice versa
