How can I disable a plugin?

We enabled the chat plugin, but have determined we do not want it showing up anymore.   I am not really seeing any information on how to disable a plugin, and even with security admin privileges unlocked it doesn't look like I can deactivate the plugins via the plugin tab.   Also - it doesn't seem like I see anything under a Social IT area when I search in my filter bar, so the steps under restricting chat room creation on this link Chat - ServiceNow Wiki   don't seem to be accessible for me.

If it isn't possible to disable the plugin, is there at least a way I can stop it from showing under the Related Links portion at the bottom of incident pages?

Best regards,

Brian

Thank you Pradeep,

In light of the plugin not being able to disable, I was able to find a way to just hide the related links by disabling the UI action that the chat plugin automatically created.   Should be good now!

Hi Brian,

You cannot disable the plugin once it is activated on your instance. However you can edit the application menu and make the active to false so that it wont show under left navigation filter.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Pradeep,

We do have an uninstall plugin related link available, but upon doing so and then reactivating the plugin the applications etc don't get reloaded.

Also the plugin files reduce to almost nothing each time you do this.

Is this an expected behaviour? Do we have any work around for this?

Thanks,
