Map to field not available while creating variables in catalog items

I have created some catalog variables that are visible to end users while purchasing any catalog item from.However when I try map the variable with a form field "map to field" options disappears.Not able to understand why it happens and how can i get the variable data to my form.

I tried that with record producers as well it shows "map to field" and it can be used but the only problem in using record producer is that it gets redirected to a table for example REQ and then user needs to fill out the form details.

The requirement is that user should only see the variable questions asked and after clicking on order now,automatically a request and RITM should get generated with the details of variables provided by user in request,RITM forms.

How can I get those variable values to the REQ,RITM forms?

Dear Akshay,

Record Producer is based on which form?

And if you are using Catalog Item then user see the variables you define in variables and variable set & based on the workflow rest of things are taken care.

RITM carries the variables you have on the Catalog Item.

                      Did you got the solution? I have the same issue  'while mapping the variable ,some fields are not showing and in the record producer i mapped with the required field .But value is not populating when the form is created from service portal' . Please help me to solve this issue.
