May I use contextual search in catalog item?

Hello,

May I use contextual search in catalog item? I knew contextual search can be used for fields in table(form), record producer and wizard. Is it possible to use contextual search for certain field (eg. short desc) in a catalog item?

I checked below wiki document. Seems it does only mentioned how to config contextual search in table(form), record producer and wizard. Any help will be much appreciated.

FYI: Manually adding a Record Producer Configuration record is still required in the San Diego release. The "Copy" button copies everything except this configuration.

The solution is perfect and it is working for adding single catalog item and it's variable. Any suggestions on variable from variable set, as I have single variable set for multiple catalog items for which I need contextual search ?
