Mobile Iron Access and ServiceNow

Would like to know if there is an integration or if possible to segment traffic (desktop traffic vs mobile phone traffic) with Mobile Iron Access.

What we would like to do is keep desktop traffic authentication alone keep that authentication going thru SSO,

The goal is to segment the mobile phone traffic to go to mobile iron access to be the intermediary and validate devices trying to connect to our network. Mobile iron access will allow us to only allow approved devices into ServiceNow.

You will need to contact MobileIron to advise on how ServiceNow can communicate with their platform and what is the process to register a device this way. Checking their website, they have APIs available so these could be used as part of your workflow.

I would also advise you speak to the team that looks after the mobile devices to confirm what their process is and what parts can be automated and/or supported within ServiceNow.

thanks for the links but those are more along the lines of infomerical pieces. I realize the mobile iron access is pretty new, are you saying that Mobile Iron has the needed paperwork to get this started? ServiceNow basically would need to be told how to do it by them?

Hi Carlos,

Before you plan to integrate with an application (third-party apps), you would need to first investigate and find out what are the integrating capabilities of Mobile Iron with ServiceNow.

We are all aware that ServiceNow has it capabilities to integrate with any system with the given capabilities of its web-services. However, we would also need to know if the source application has the capability to do so with ServiceNow; or if it support integration via web-services.

This is why I would first suggest you sit and discuss with the guys in your organization who manages and administers the Mobile Iron application that can give you insight on its capabilities or maybe even reach out to Mobile Iron for answers.

I had a similar situation with a couple of other applications which required integration (to name a few -- SkyHigh, Taleo, etc.) and had to reach out to vendors directly for further insights.

Once you have a clear understandings on the capabilities of Mobile Iron, you can then plan your next step to integrate or find ways to integrate based on your requirement.

The initial ask would only be to limit the devices accessing servicenow via mobile traffic to be approved devices on mobile iron.
