I am facing a Strange issue. I am doing an app to app integration (Salesforce and ServiceNow) using mule.
I was given a username and password and a ServiceNow(SN) instance API. Initially I could not even connect to serviceNow instance .
Then the SN flocks gave me admin rights on the userid and I was able to login to SN instance. I was then able pull all the user defined tables from the instance.
I was also able to send records. I sent around 350 records to two user defined tables. Then the SN flocks said they will be revoking admin right as they cannot provide me admin access. After they revoked the admin rights , I was still able to send records and could verify that the records exists in the serviceNow user defined table. Strange it does not make any sense. Anyways I asked SN flocks if they have made any changes from their end and their answer was a huge "NO".
Again Since we are moving to production they gave me a new username and password and again back to the same issue. This time after requesting they again gave me admin rights on the userid and Strange it is, I am able to access the instance and also the tables. Since they cannot give me admin rights , I asked them to revoke. But Now I am not able to access the serviceNow instance.
I have also raised a Mulesoft support ticket , they said as long as I have the API access, update , delete , insert and read permission I am good.
I could not raise a serviceNow ticket as I do not own the application. I am helpless as I am only hearing that its a mulesoft connector issue.
Can anyone help me what access/permission level I need , to access serviceNow instance from a mulesoft connector.

adding a late response maybe helpful to someone.
If one is able to connect via admin role but not with other roles, the issue is likely with Roles/Access Control in ServiceNow. The issue is likely related to few items.
The integration user don't have the correct roles i.e SOAP or REST depending on the type of integration.
The ServiceNow tables needs to have correct roles to accommodate insert/update from integration user.
Thanks, Faisal
