multi-row variable in catalog item doesn't work on Service Portal

Hey all, we have catalog item using a multi-row variable set. We allow the user to select and add rows as required when populating the multi-row variable table when completing the item. The table works great, produces the correct approvals specified on the table and passes through the variable details into the task.
One issue we found, we are new to portal and during testing, we found the multi-row variable when populated on the portal, and submitted, does not keep the data in the multi-row variable table. When you open the RITM generated from the request, the table is blank.
Any thoughts of hand? Thanks in advance.

Does it work fine in the native UI when submitted via an Order Guide? Does the MRVS exist and are you populating it on the Order Guide (the first step) or not until the second page/tab where you enter additional details for each included Catalog Item?

Yes, it works in native just fine, and it works just fine on portal if submitted outside an order guide. MVRS exists only on the item level as this particular item is the only item in the rule base that requires it.
I had to update the portal ORDER GUIDE page to use the new SC Order Guide widget, which seems to work for display, but did not correct the issue.

Could you confirm if the table data in MRVS is still available once you move to 3rd step and back to 2nd step? I'm thinking that there's something acting on order-guide that is making the MRVS data to clear once you move to 3rd step.
