My Personal Developer Instance is Down

Are PDIs down due to the recent release/update? I've been able to access consistently for the last couple months since launching it but today I've refreshed multiple times to no avail.

Hi @atramwebui ,

Forums are no longer monitored by Servicenow employees, Also they have disabled feedback option which was there earlier on Developer site so wait for it to get it resolved automatically.

I see there are many threads on Instance being down/offline so wait for some time and it will be resolved automatically, Nothing else can be done.

@atramwebui There is no official support available from ServiceNow for personal development instances. You can wait for some more time to see if the instance comes back to life. In case if this doesn't happen then you can choose to release the existing instance and request for a new instance.

Instance being in offline mode and failing to backup/restore is an intermittent issue nowadays. No other option than to wait for some time. Unfortunately, Instance support is no longer provided by ServiceNow and no update on this issue is being provided by ServiceNow. We no longer have feedback button also.

 

For any urgent work, Best you can do now is to release the instance and request for new one if you don't have important data. You can get a new instance in less than 5 minutes.

 

According to the business impact and if it is a customer/partner instance, you can raise HI case for this issue. 

For PDI, ServiceNow no longer provides any support. You can try your luck by explaining the impact this outage has caused, drop an email to ServiceNow Developer Program "developer@servicenow.com"

How long does it usually take for it to be just a prolonged wait time versus the instance being dead and having to restart/request-a-new-instance?

As you might know, there is no support available from ServiceNow in relation to PDIs, hence you're limited to two options:

 

  1. Wait, it should come online after some time
  2. if you get tired of waiting, release the instance and request a fresh installation.  NOTICE, if you do this, every development that you haven't backed up will be lost for good.
