Need Help Getting a Free Personal Developer Instance (PDI)

Hi ServiceNow Community,

I am currently learning ServiceNow and preparing by building projects in a Personal Developer Instance (PDI). However, whenever I request a free PDI through the Developer Portal, my request is placed on the waitlist.

I understand that PDIs are limited resources, but I wanted to ask if there is any way to get a free PDI sooner.

  • Is there any recommended release/version that has better availability?

  • Are there any best practices or workarounds that help reduce the waiting time?

  • Has anyone recently been able to get a PDI, and how long did it take?

  • Is there any official way to request priority access for learners preparing for certifications or personal projects?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @SoumyaranjaRath

Don't worry—this is quite common at the moment.

Over the past few days, many community members have reported delays when requesting a PDI. In some cases, the waiting period has been 6–7 days or even longer, especially for lower ServiceNow versions.

You can try requesting an instance on an earlier release, such as Zurich or an older version, but there may still be a waiting period due to high demand.

For now, patience is the best approach, as PDI availability depends on overall demand and ServiceNow's infrastructure capacity.
