I have a requirement of adding new dropdown choice for 'impact' field in Change request form. I have added a new dropdown choice value using configure choices and so my OOB field values needed to be changed because of the custom dropdown choice. Can I know what will be the impact caused in OOB?? ...Or should i add the field value as '0' for my custom dropdown choice so OOB field values will not be changed?

Hi Ashwin,
Try not to update/change the OOB choice value for the Impact field. Since in Change management, impact is referred in calculating Risk based on the condition. Given the attachment from OOB:
Here you can see the impact is setting based on the criticality and if you try to change the impact value it will cause some level of issues.
And also, this impact field is inherited from the Task table only. So, if u make any changes it will reflect to all other child tables of Task table (e.g.: Incident, Problem, etc.).
If you want to specifically change the lmpact choices label and also need to add new choice only for Change Module you can create the create choice by keeping the values as same of in OOB. Here I attached one sample for your reference.
If my answer is useful, Kindly mark my response as helpful.
Thanks
