Next Experience In-Line Editing on a Related List

We are making extensive use of the Next Experience Record Page and the Related Lists that work with it.

Our Related Lists are configured to include the most relevant fields, dependent upon the context.

Examples include the following:

  • Number
  • Short description
  • Date/time fields
  • Boolean fields

While it’s great that we can connect our data model with Related Lists, it would be so much better if we could edit the values of the fields presented in these related lists, with an “in-line editing” mode, updating the underlying data held in the referenced tables.

The UI16 interface on the platform does exactly what I’m looking to be able to do:

  1. Edit a text field

  1. Edit a boolean field

  1. Edit a date/time field

I’ve been scouring the forums for ideas on how to make the same functionality work in the Next Experience.

Here’s the same Related List in the new UI:

Double-clicking on any of the fields in this UI does not enable editing. The best we get is “Show Matching / Filter out”.

I found this post from Maik Skoddow but it’s not quite the inline editing solution I’m looking for.

This feels like such a generic requirement that the UI16 platform delivers – I wonder if an expert out there knows if there’s a way to replicate this much-needed UI pattern in the Next Experience?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

In answer to your question, no the property doesn't resolve this, I had mine on true and I am still having this issue.
