Not able to add date field in portal page using App Engine Studio

I am not able to add a date component to a portal page with App Engine Studio, once I add this component there is no result when I preview the page, can someone tell me how we can add date component ?

There is not much to go with to help you. Can you elaborate and post screenshots showing what you tried and the results?
