Is there a maximum number of versions that servicenow saves? on the versions tab of each field??

There is no restriction on version OOTB.

@Community Alums I don't think any such limit is defined after all a version is nothing but another entry inside sys_update_version table. Checked the docs here https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/tokyo-application-development/page/build/team-development/concept/c_Versions.html and no such limit is specified here.
