Override display value

I want to show project number instead of project name on field but there is already Override display value set true for name from with table the field is referring to if I tired to change it then its disturbing the other table where the project field is being used

 Yes I am doing it the same way but its showing invalid insert as Override display = true is already there for name that is why we cannot set it for number but if I try do delete the one for name and change it to number then its also change the name field on change request table as it also taking reference from task table.(short description is the back end name of the name field)
