Password Reset for a user

Hi,
One of the users in my instance is unable to login to the developer instance. I have gone to Oraganization --> Users, and typed in the new password, checked the Password needs Reset check box too. Even then, the user is facing issues in logging in. Below is the screenshot of my user:
I have typed a password in the Password field and clicked Update. I am trying to login with:
Username : the name in User ID field
Password : The one I typed in the Password field
What is wrong with it? Please help.

You are tried with "password need to reset" thing, it allow to enter default password or at that time it is giving the error?

I have typed a password in Password field. The Password needs reset field is checked from the beginning. When I clicked Update, the form refreshes and Password field is se to blank again. Then I logged out from my instance and tried to login as the User who has this problem. Here, while logging in as my user, I get the error.

Hi balaji,
Where do i find glide.authenticate.external property. This has to be set to false if LDAP is in picture. That is what the other discussion says(the one which you posted). Please let me know.
