PDI timeout or hibernation (not asking how to extend, just a gripe)

Chris Andrews

Did ServiceNow announce the change that reduced the activity timeout of PDIs from whatever reasonable period it was before to what must be fewer than 12 hours?  It is a royal pain.  Well... it's an inconvenience at most, but an annoying one.  I get it--it was likely done to save on resources, reducing PDIs that sit idle, but there must be a better way to do that.

HI @Chris Andrews

There is no official announcement on this, but generally, if you don't use your PDI (Personal Developer Instance) for 10 hours, it will go into hibernation. You can wake it up by simply logging into the developer site. However, if it remains unused for 10 days, it will be reclaimed.

Hi @Chris Andrews ,

Remember, this is a free service, hence the support is not their and issues can occur. I do well understand the frustration, but only thing to do is spin up a new instance and move one.

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
