Place holder and Help text supported in Workspace?

1) Im trying to create a placeholder for "Short description" field in agent workspace through onload client script

It worked in Native UI but not in workspace.

Please let me know if there is some limitation

2) Also I wanna keep a help text on hover and found an old KB article which says its also not supported in our legacy workspace.

I have not been able to get it to work in Agent Workspace either. I will keep looking for a solution. 

 

 

It looks like it is possible because ServiceNow have some OOTB which can be modified in the messages table:
