Playbook errors: Request (Invalid Reference) on the Automation tab

I am getting multiple playbook errors when testing an Order Guide after installing the Sequential Fulfillment plugin.  How do you resolve "Invalid Reference" for the "Request" field on the Automation tab for the activity in each lane.

Not sure what has happened but just empty it and set it again as the parent record - request reference from the picker on the right.

I'm also getting this error on every catalog item in the sequence when I generate the sequence.  Emptying it and reselecting it just put it's back to invalid reference.  Has anyone found a solution?
