Questions Regarding Import Set Transform Map Execution and Easy Import Validation

Hi Community,

I have two questions regarding Import Sets and Transform Maps.

Question 1

I have an API integration where I insert multiple records into a staging (Import Set) table through a script. After the records are inserted, the Transform Map runs and the records are inserted/updated in the target table.

My question is: If I update an existing staging table record through a script, will the Transform Map run again automatically?

Question 2

When using Easy Import, I noticed that a separate staging table and Transform Map are created for each import/user, even when I already have an existing staging table and Transform Map.

How can I add validation for data imported through Easy Import?

Hi @Tejas Adhalrao 

Q1: No, not automatalcuu you ned to run again In ServiceNow, a Transform Map runs when you execute an import/transform process, not simply because a record in the staging/import set table is updated.

Question 2

AG: Yes, that’s OOTB. That’s the reason it’s called “easy import” — there’s no action required from the user; they just click Next and Done. By “easy impact,” I mean importing from the list view. That’s my understanding.
