"Show XML" on Mac Firefox not formatting properly

I've started using Firefox in the office as my main browser this week because of some unsolvable corruption problems with Chrome. I prefer Firefox over Safari.

I use "Show XML" multiple times a day and have noticed that on this computer when running Firefox the displayed XML window results either strip out the tags or display the XML in a single line string which isn't easily readable. When the tags display I'm having to copy and paste the XML into an editor and pretty print it.

I realize this is not a ServiceNow issue, but haven't found a Firefox solution elsewhere.  If anyone else has had and solved this problem, I'd love to know what you did. Thanks!

You might have to uninstall and install the latest version of Firefox on your office computer.

Anyhow you were able to figure out the rootcause.

Running into the same issue.... When you say 'create a new user profile' what exactly do you mean?

Definitely update your browser. Some older versions use older script versions too which can sometimes try to convert itself to accommodate the latest version. I hope this helps

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I don't think that seems to be the issue. I just downloaded Firefox (this is my personal computer) so I have the most up to date version - still having the problem. When I click "Show XML" it strips all the XML tags away and shows the values in one line. I can see the correct values when I view the page source on the pop-up window but I'd like to be able to see the tags and values without having to view page source.

Ryan,

Not longer after I deleted and created a new profile, the XML display problem re-appeared. I have just lived with it since. I've tried re-installing too with no success. However, I'm in a managed environment where institutional IT provides their latest 'tested' approved version (60.6.1esr).

I see you already found my work-around to "View Source" on the pop-up window.

Perhaps a bit late, but I use an extension to Firefox (on a Mac):

Pretty XML

Works fine for me!
