Recent Chrome update broke ServiceNow's text highlighting

With the recent Chrome update to Version 131.0.6778.70 (Official Build) (64-bit), the texts and fields in ServiceNow suddenly cannot be highlighted. CTRL+A then copy then paste still works but highlighting texts using mouse or Shift + directional arrow does not work. I'll be submitting a ticket to HI but just starting this thread in case somebody has an insight to this.

We are having the same issue too. Vancouver patch 10 hotfix 2. It was working fine in 130.0.6723.117 (Official Build) (64-bit). I then upgraded to 131.0.6778.70 (Official Build) (64-bit) and it broke highlighting. Our support reps use highlight/copy/paste a lot within ServiceNow as they work on tickets so this is an issue for us. Current workaround for us is to use Edge.

If you do get a response from support, could you post what the resolution is?

There is a workaround to import a UI script to fix it.

This fixed my issue with unable to highlight a text field and copy in a record but didn't fix the ability to copy text in my dashboard in Chrome. Created case with SN.

As a workaround, I found triple-LEFT-click the line you want to copy and although it doesn't highlight will copy the text.
