Recent selection pop-up window showing for read only field

Hi Everyone,

We have a custom table u_imt_incident, When an incident is getting cancelled we have a field Client(u_client) which is getting grayed out but recent selection window still showing for that field for a particular user(Screenshot attached), I checked ACL and roles for that user everything is same in dev, QA and prod but issue is happening on QA and prod. How to fix this issue.
