Reference Field is Not Available in Portal

Hi All,

I'm working on a catalog where I have one variable of reference type which is pointing to a custom table. It's working as expected in the dev instance but in test this reference field is not showing up.

Can anyone please help me understand what could be the reason?

The table is not yet available in test instance. But still shouldn't the field appear in portal without any data in the drop down?

I don't think the variable will be even rendered if the referring table is not present in the instance. If it is of type select box with no options, it would still appear with no dropdown values. But reference type variable would not appear.

Just once try change the reference to any existing table in TEST instance and check if variable is available.
