Reference field magnifieng glass is not working

IN incident module we have two custom fields both are referencing to other table, when i click on reference field magnifieng glass it is not working and nothing is showing. when i enter some value then value is coming only when i click on magnifieng glass it is not working , can any one help me here with suggestions.

Check if the table has a display business rule or if the actual table has no display value set to true.

Can you check if the issue with
- reference qualifier
- tree_picker attribute of the reference field. some time role issue is found with tree picker.
- check list view/read acl of the table..
