Reference Qualifier issue on Catalog Item - multiple choice values instead of just one

Hi, I have a problem with my reference qualifier. Hope someone could give me a hint on point 5 and 6.

I've got an asset replacement form with some fields. The idea is to:
1. Choose an user (done).

2. Choose the project name assigned to this particular user (done).

3. Choose the opened incident number, where the user is the caller (done).

4. Choose the affected asset which is assigned to the above chosen user (done).

5. Auto populate the field with the model name of the above chosen asset (instead of one model name, I get a list to choose from - this is wrong, I should get the model name of the asset).

6. Auto populate the warranty expiration of the above chosen asset (instead of one date I get a list of multiple dates and I should get only the date of the asset).

The alm_hardware table looks like this:

find_real_file.png

warranty_end_date variable:

find_real_file.png

model_of_pc variable:

find_real_file.png

damaged_pc variable:

find_real_file.png

If any questions, please let me know, thanks!

For warranry field please use the below:-

javascript:'display_name='+current.varibales.damaged_pc;

For model fields as well use:-

javascript:'display_name='+current.varibales.damaged_pc;

And make the checkbox Unique values only to true

Please mark answer correct/helpful based on impact.

I noticed that you have 'warranty_expireation.warranty_experation=' + current.variables.damaged_pc. However when I lookup the table warranty_experation is a date field and cannot be dot walked. If the value of damaged_pc is a date field then it should just be 'warranty_expireation=' + current.variables.damanged_pc.

Hi Brian, I had it like this before ("javascript: 'warranty_expiration='+current.variables.damaged_pc;") but then I get no results.
With dot walking I get at least a list of dates to choose from on the form.

The idea is to get the exact warranty date of the chosen asset.

Ok after rereading you comment next to that. If you are only looking for one value why are you not making this a string field and just setting the value using a script?

Edit: Try this "javascript: 'warranty_expiration='+current.variables.damaged_pc.warranty_expiration"

It's because I have to follow project's requirements:

The reference qualifier approach worked fine for point 2, 3 and 4 from my description above. Unfortunately it doesn't for point 5 and 6.
