I have create one reference variable.
when click on magnifier glass it showing sys_ids instead of values.
table level i have updated display value true for os type field,still it showing sys_id.

You can also personalize that list to make it hold whatever fields you want. Just right-click on the header bar and choose Personalize > List Layout like other places int he system.

Hi.
Sorry to update an ancient thred, but I'm having a weird issue with list view. Sys id appear in the reference field when I'm ordering by the reference field.
Ex.: I've created a field that references Budget Period. When I'm inputing everything is ok:
As soon as I order by the reference field the sys_id's appear:
Can't find any justification for this behaviour. Do you found any solution for these situation?
The budget Periods is a OOTB with a reference field to the Fiscal Period. Both use the name as display field.
Initially I though it was only for the end-users but now it occurs also with admin.

I just had this issue and found that I needed to go to the table definition and update the List class definition under table descendants. This worked for me.
