remove duplicate attachment

I want on every update of a case in particular state checks for duplicate attachment and removes/delete them.

we have incoming inbound action which attach attachmnet to case table, whenever user replies.

I want on every update , it should check the duplicate attachment linked to this particular case and delete them?

how it can be achieve?

how are you identifying duplicate attachments? with file name or file type or combination of both?
