Removing a selected item from an order guide based on variable selection?

In one of our items included in an order guide, we have a question designed to determine if the requestor really needs said item. If they answer "no" to this question, I want to exclude it from their order guide submission - essentially setting the inclusion slider to "false":

I have not found a way to do this via script on the client side, before the order guide submission. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Did you manage to get anywhere with this? Have a similar situation at the moment where we need to remove an item based on a variable selected.
