Hello, I just wanted to know that if a user with admin role can reset the password of a user having security_admin role or not?

  • Login in your admin account search user in user table then go to role related list and remove security admin role for that user and save 
  • Refresh the form again open the user record for that particular user and reset password 

If this approached is not work then elevate your role so it will added security admin role to your account and try again the same process

have you tried this in your pdi ? if yes which servicenow version you are using, i tried on yokohama and it didn't worked for me an admin can't reset the password of security_admin.

Yes I have tried in yokohama and it is working for me 

 

1stly you have to elevate your role by clicking on profile icon select elevate your role and select security admin and update  

Note: only user having security admin role can reset password of security admin role 

 

2ndly open security admin user record  checked password need reset option and set password then generate then save password and sent to user

Thanks for your reply, but that was not my question i just wanted to know that a user having only admin role can reset the password of user having security_admin role and i got my answer.
