Restricting the filter navigator options for a specific role

I have a situation where I want only one specific role to have a restricted menu list on the service management filter navigator.

I want only the Problem Logs application menu to be visible to this role.  I looked into System Definition > Application Menus but thought it would be better if I could simply restrict what one role sees instead of assigning roles to all of the other applications that have no role restrictions. Is there a way to do this?

I don't think there is any OOB way to handle this, you can only control what a specific role can or can't access, but not filter out those modules which doesn't have any role included.

I would use the Application Menus to add the role, because that's the OOB way. You could also create a portal page for the problem logs application and make sure a user with that role can only login to the portal and only has access to that page. But, easiest way, just do it like ServiceNow meant it to be done.
