Hello @yoli1

Greetings!

Locked out means they cannot login but are in the system as a current user (e.g. existing employee who tried the wrong password too many times.). You can also lockout from user record, This will cause the user to remain active; however, they will be locked out of the system.

you can provide no of failed attempts to lockout a user as well.

I'm not very sure on that.  but you could try resetting password.

Hi @yoli1 ,

Hope you are doing great.

To test if a user is locked out and cannot log in, you can follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to "Users" in the Application Navigator.
  2. Search for the user you want to test, for example, "Abel Tuter."
  3. Open the user's record to view their details.
  4. Check the "Locked Out" field in the user's record. If it's set to "true," the user is locked out and cannot log in.

To unlock the user and allow them to log in again, follow these steps:

  1. In the user's record, set the "Locked Out" field to "false."
  2. Save the record to apply the changes.

To address the question of why we would need to lock out a user, there could be several reasons for doing so:

  1. Locking out a user can be a security measure to prevent unauthorized access to the system, especially in cases of potential account compromise or suspicious activities.

  2.  In certain industries or organizations, there might be regulatory requirements to lock out user accounts after a certain number of failed login attempts or other security-related incidents.

  3.  If an employee leaves the company or changes roles, their access might need to be restricted to specific resources, leading to a temporary or permanent lockout.

  4.  In some situations, user accounts may be locked out during an ongoing investigation to preserve the integrity of data or systems.
