Scripted Availability Method in Appointment Booking Configuration

I have a fully functioning Appointment Booking Configuration set up. But we've had a change in requirements, so I need to switch to using the 'Scripted' Availability Method. As a user, when I display the schedule, the script doesn't even run (not even when all I have in the field is a log statement). In the logs, I found an error that leads to the AppointmentRESTHelper script include. It seems like it's not even getting to my script at all. I have not customized Walk-up Experience. Our Employee Center is customized, but I don't think that would make a difference here.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Do you have any suggestions for me?

This post explains why I need to use the Scripted Availability Method.
