Hi experts
We’d like our users to find CIs in Global Search, ideally for example just by typing the CI name.
We linked the NLQ Genius Result (Intelligent Search for CMDB) to our search profile. "Linux servers" or "Computer ABC12345" work fine, but searching only “ABC12345” returns nothing. On top of that, NLQ only runs for users with language EN, so users with other language setup get no CI results at all. Indexing doesn’t help either, since cmdb tables are excluded from AI Search (https://www.servicenow.com/docs/r/platform-administration/ai-search/excluded-tables-ais.html).
Has anyone out there already solved this, or does anyone have an idea how to approach it? Any input is appreciated!
Thanks!
Dominik

Using the undocumented sysprop mentioned in this article you can remove the restriction to create the cmdb ais indexed source. I couldn't find any documented reason why it is restricted but I can imagine it is because of the potential volume and update frequency of cmdb data.
https://www.snnotebook.com/2026/09/10/adding-cmdb-computers-to-ai-search/
var table = "cmdb_ci_computer"
gs.info(new sn_ais.AisUtil().isTableIndexable(table))
gs.setProperty("glide.ais.ingestion.should_index", table)
gs.info(new sn_ais.AisUtil().isTableIndexable(table))
prints:
//false
//true
