Can SNOW directly send emails to an SMTP server instead of going via exchange ? I mean sending email to xxxxxx.corp.gwpnet.com , port 25.
This server is already smtp enabled so we may not need to use exchange at all.

Yes, you can use your own SMTP server or you can use ServiceNow's SMTP server as well. All these options are well documented in Configuring Email - ServiceNow Wiki
Hope this helps.

Hi John,
It would be great if you could provide some examples on how to achieve this (if you have this information handy) since this is urgent.
Best Regards.

Can you do these and let me know when you're ready:
- Send a test email to the SMTP server, say using Outlook or any tool, so we know the server, port, credentials and all is working.
- Has the ServiceNow instance you'll configure already been used to send emails?
- Can you clear out the Outbox in ServiceNow?
