Service catalog items topics section not moved in update sets from dev to test instance

Hi Team
I have created a catalog item in our dev environment and captured it in an update set. It was then transferred to the Test environment and i encountered two challenges
- The form and the flow was successfully transferred but there were some missing field/questions in the form.
- While designing the catalog item we added it into the IT/IT support section in Topics. This was again not showing in the employee center in the Test environment.
Observations:
- There was another update set running in parallel in dev for the form variable starting from cb_Servicecatalogitem which i imported to the tests environment and that showed field on the form which i was missing from my update set. QUESTION- is this the right way to get the form field when transferred from one instance to another.
- I checked in the test instance , if i click on the item that was imported and open in the edit catalog builder the topic is empty there but its present in the dev environment. i researched and figured out that topics is considered as data and not captured in an update set. you need to add in the test environment manually or export the record from connected content module to the test environment.
Assistance required.
- is there a better way to capture the variable /questions of catalog item from one instance to another rather than what i did?
- is there a better way to incorporate the topic section of catalog item into an update set?
