Service Portal AI Search and Synonyms

So I have enabled AI Search for our Service Portal.  I selected the "Service Portal Default Search Applicaiton" as the Search Application as shown below:

That OOB Search Application has the Search Profile "Service Portal Default Search Profile" which has Synonyms in the related list - Default Synonym Dictionary.  

All of the applications and search profiles I am using are OOB

Well one of the OOB synonyms is "scam" and with the payload "phishing".  So anytime you search for either word catalog items or knowledge articles should be returned with those words.

Well we have a "Phishing Test" catalog item with meta of "phishing" as well and it is not returned when I search using our "Homepage Search" widget.  It doesn't appear the synonyms are working as I expect them to or at all.

Our homepage search widget is OOB with just the Title and Short Description updated and I added the Search Application under the AI Section:

Am I missing something about this setup process?  It seems pretty straight forward, but I am not seeing search results return as expected.

is portal record has AI search enabled flag checked?

is your search application configuration search engine - ai search?

This is our Portal record with AI Search enabled and search application chosen (I've played around with search results configuration either empty or something in it)

Then this is the Search Application...again all default.  I haven't changed any of this:

and the "Homepage Search" widget is our search on the Service Portal.  You can see a screenshot of it in the first post where I have the Search Application chosen under the AI Section,

it is very strange issue 🙂

i would try to do following

1. publish search profile again

2. add new testing record into synonyms (like phishing -> ["april"]) and publish the dictionary

3. logout - login again and test it

Before you posted this I installed the Advanced AI Search Tools and looked at the Search Preview...the preview functions correctly and shows the Phishing Test when I search for Scam using the "Service Portal Default Search Profile".  

I even cloned the Homepage Search widget again to ensure it was in the correct Class/Table (sp_instance_ais) and added it to the portal.  Still not getting the correct results.

do you see any errors in ai search log ?

when you sat options in homepage search widget, did you set search result configuration ?

could you set it up in widget options?

check route map under portals - is search mapped to sp_search?
