You may have to clone the "Knowledge Article Content" Service Portal widget and modify the Option Schema to have versioning as false:

That's just a thought and I haven't tested it.

Is this a good practice to clone and what we need to take care if we do the widget clone?

Like do we need to updated anywhere with the cloned widget name?

Best practice is not to modify the OOB widgets, but to clone and then make your modifications.  You can name the widget something different or just add CLONED to the name.  

Once you make changes, you then need to add it to the Service Portal page by going to the Service Portal page, hold CTRL and right click and edit Page in Page Designer and dragging and dropping the widget where you want it.  You can do that and leave the out of the box widget on there at the same time so you can compare.

If you've never modified the Service Portal before, I suggest you do that in your Personal DEV Instance first.

Here is the easiest solution :

CTRL + Right click on the widget and open Page in Designer

Click on the pencil icon near to knowledge article content widget

Mark "Show Version Information" as False
