ServiceNow Reporting for entire organization

Hi Team,

I am sure I am not the first one asking this question. Basically I am looking for building a common report for all the teams in my organization like if they choose Business Service or Application CI or Support group then list its relevant reports for Incidents, changes etc.

Challenges with Normal reporting module is it doesn't give much needed reports like Incidents created vs resolved.

This can be resolved by PA but issue with PA is its not real time and based on the scheduled job snapshot data which cannot be verified and cannot be accurate or up to date.

I am looking for an alternative option here which can be utilized for reporting for real time. Thought of using Power BI but it's hard to use it if data is huge.

How are you managing it in your environment.

Hi @SM16 ,

For sure you can create e.g. incidents created vs. resolved in the basic report designer. You just need to create e.g. created with relevant conditions, save the report and add another data set for the resolved. https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/washingtondc-now-intelligence/page/use/reporting/task/t_AddAnAddi...

What if I want third report in the same one to show the percentage of how many closed divided by how many created?

Like below formula

Efficiency = # of Closed incidents in the month / #New incidents in the month

Hi @SM16 ,

Formulas is not possible in the report designer - here you need performance analytics instead.

Power BI is not hard to use if you don't connect it directly to ServiceNow. Use a best practice of building a ServiceNow read-replica database as a reporting DB and connect Power BI there. SnowMirror or similar tools can help with ServiceNow data replication.
