Set Comments via onChange client scripts

Hi

Is there any way to set value for 'comments' field via client script? 

I tried it in onChange client script, but not working properly.

*for example

change choice value , then set comments in client script

↓comments is set, but "Work notes check box" is hidden,and opened "Work notes comments" unintentionally.

Are you saying it doesn't work because the work notes field displays and the check box disappears. I think this is just default functionality of the system when using a script to set something in comments. It would also behave the same way if you set comments to mandatory.
