Set the Default Value of the Employee type field

As part of our integration of Active Directory to ServiceNow. I would like to set the Employee Type column to  the default of 'Employee'  I am assuming set the default value to the column will not work.  We want to make sure that for every import into the sys_user table, the default value for the Employee Type column is 'Employee'

Setting the default value for the dictionary (column) should work. I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't.
