My developer instance seems to go to sleep every night 'for inactivity', but I'm a very active developer and work extensively on the instance every day. Does anyone else have the same issue, and does anyone know a fix? Waking up isn't a problem, but it's frustrating that I have to do it every morning.

Hi Glen,
Thanks for taking the time to provide us with feedback.
We recently introduced hibernation as a way to more efficiently utilize resources set aside for the Developer Program to ensure that instances continue to be free and widely available. We are working through the right level of activity before hibernating and will be making tweaks in the coming weeks to try to make the user experience better and less inconvenient for those who are utilizing their instances regularly.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions or comments.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this.
Jack

Hi Glen,
This seems to be a common them on the community this morning. After a quick email to our dev loper operations, it seems the "idle" policy recently changed from 10 days of inactivity=instance terminated & reclaimed, to "a few hours" of inactivity=instance hibernated. You can go to the following page and wake it up. This was done to better manage the pool of available instances to the developer community. I'm working to find out what "a few hours" means. Haven't checked the FAQ yet...

A few hours is too few to hibernate the instance. If you stick to a few hours, you'll be hibernating everyone every day, as we all have to sleep for "a few hours." 24-48 hours, as suggested below, is a much better time frame. Please consider this change.

HI Glen,
Instances still have inactivity timers. If your instance remains idle, it will be reclaimed at the end of 10 days. However, the process of waking your instance counts as an activity through the My Instance page.
How does sleepiness impact my instance?
While in the hibernation state, scheduled jobs, API calls and other functions that require an online and active instance will not be available.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Pradeep, what is the current idle interval before an instance goes to sleep?
