SMS notificaton - add a service provider

Hi SNC,

I have a question regarding SMS Notifications. I am willing to start using this functionality but I am facing the following issue. I tried adding a new device from My Profile, as I want to create a SMS notification device. The 'Service Provider' list consists only of records for the US mobile carriers. I tried to add another choice option but when I try to add an european mobile operator (Bulgarian in my case) I get an error 'match not found, please reset to original'.

Does anyone has experience with adding service providers for the SMS notification function? If so, please share.

Thanks in advance!

Hello

I have followed the steps above so that our offshore team (in India) is able to receive notifications via SMS on their cell phones.

The carrier i used was     Airtel: number@airtelap.com   Example: 0091XXX-XXX-XXXX@airtelap.com
I tried with and without the international dialing code.

The logs in ServiceNow clearly show that this number received the alert, but the offshore person confirms that they did not receive the SMS alert.

Are there any additional steps that must be taken in order for this to be successful?

Thanks in advance

You may need to contact your provider to make sure they have enabled it for your number. Many providers charge for this service, so it may not be active by default.

Hi,

I tried to contact the provider but they are saying they don't have any information about this..

Hello Nomaan, have you been successful with international providers? I am experiencing the same issue. Text messages work for US users and providers. We are trying a test with Singapore providers but no success. I see the message going out of ServiceNow but no text is received. Same question with country code is it needed or not. Jim

Hello Jim

There is an alert service provider SendWordNow which can be used to send SMS text alerts from ServiceNow to users based outside the US.

However, we've decided to hold off on utilizing this for now, since it was going be somewhat expensive.

It requires some development work in our   ServiceNow instance + on going subscription charges.
