SMTPSender: no recipients, email send ignored

Hi all,

 

i am trying to compose a mail from change request / Incident. The email is Ignored. I am pasting the error that I am receiving. It is only for two mail ID's and I was told that those are DL's. I have checked blocked mails also.

Cause

As per section 3.4 of the Internet Message Format Standard RFC5322, the _ (underscore) is an illegal character in the address domain, so JavaMail rejects the address.

Resolution

This is not a ServiceNow platform issue, as the behaviour is expected.

In order to resolve this, the domain part of the email address needs to be corrected to conform with section 3.4 of Internet Message Format Standard RFC5322.

Hi Atul, 

 

Thanks for the response but the receipients mail doesn't have any illegal character. I was also told that those Mail id's are DL's.

Hi @Abishek1998 ,

 

This is expected by design. Please check he recipients user record and check the email field. Make sure it has the proper mail domain name and should be formatted correctly and also make sure there's no _ underscore in the mail ID.
