SOW: Hide Component 'Assign'

I am trying to remove the Assign button from the Assignment Details section of the Record Information sidebar. It doesn't make any sense in our org due to custom ACLs for incident write. However, my changes don't seem to be taking.

What I've done so far:

- Created a variant of the Record Information SNC sub-page

- Set the order to 0 on the variant.

- Deactivated the original page, Record Information SNC (out of desparation)

- I set Hide Component to true on the Assign component on the variant.

- Cleared UIB cache.

But the Assign button still shows for records meeting the conditions for that button (current user is not a member of the assignment group). I get the feeling I am not seeing the variant when I open SOW, because I also changed the Label of the page to Record Info and that change is not reflected either.

Am I missing a step somewhere?

Hi @Karla Chorny ,

Is there another variant with order of 0 that is active without conditions?

Apart from the UI builder cache, have you tried clearing the system cache and the browser cache?

Do you see your variant when you're adding test values in the Record SRP page in UI Builder?

Looking at your steps I don't see anything that you have missed.

Best regards,

Joni

Thank you! You mentioned Record SRP, and after I did some research I realized that's the page I needed to be modifying, not Record SNC. Once I figured that out, I was able to hide the Assign button.

However, the Assign to Me button also disappeared forever (but it's still available as a form button), and Reassign moved to a context action, available when the incident is not assigned.

Hi @Karla Chorny ,

The button indeed shows different things depending on the assignment state of the ticket and your own groups, 'Assign', 'Assign to me' and 'Reassign'.

In the page 'Record Information' (in the page collection) you can find a client script 'Open Assign Modal' where the button behaviour is programmed. You could make changes here to change the bevahior of the buttons and omit the assign button.

Best regrds,

Joni
