The read only fields are not updating from Ui builder Modal pop-up

I am trying to update read only fields through UI builder Modal pop-up. But it's not updating read only fields. Only updating the fields which are not read only.

I am not here expert but I guess meaning of read only means , non editable , no one can change.

Through UI actions we can able to update the read only fields but same thing we are not able to update with the help of UI builder pop-up. 

And here I am not trying to update the read only fields manually but trying to update them with the help of button on UI builder modal pop-up.
