I had quite a few hours of issues with having an empty preview window for any (except 1) of my local data resources.
My first data resource worked fine (this was a look up records resource) and all others after this, even another look up records resource gave me the same issue

Finally i found the issue, the issue was in the UX Macroponent Definition record in the data field.
To access this i went to the 3 lines in the top left of UI Builder, selected deveopler, and then Open variant record.
Then i opened the page definition which was in a reference field (mine was just called Default since i had not given it any specific name).
In here i saw in the data field that there where 5 different data sources, 3 of them where ones i had played around with and then deleted.
What i think was the issue was the fact i had deleted the "sys_ux_data_broker_transform" record before removing the data source in UI Builder, when i did this, the local data resource was also removed, but was not removed in the UX Macroponent Definitions in the data field, causing an error that sadly was not echoed back to me by ServiceNow.
