When you make use of the UI builder component "Data Visualization" and configure it to show a line. It will not follow the date range specification when the data source is a performance indicator formula. Does this seem correct? The date range does work on an automatic indicator.
Here I show how I have the date range configured. Instead of showing the last 12 months, it shows all the data that the PA formula can provide, 2 years worth. As if the "Show maximum range" was selected.

I found out from Service Now tech support that if you turn off "Apply Date Range", save, and turn it back on. That the date range finally works. HI Tech support seem to be happy with that resolution.

Did you try setting the Period Start to be 1 year prior? So 5-11-2022 through 5-11-2023?
Or.... can you leave those fields blank and it just get a rolling year? You're not going to want to come in here and change it all the time.
